Instrument Rentals and Payment Plans
MauMusic are pleased to offer both new and pre-loved rentals as well as Certegy's Ezi-Pay No Interest Ever! payment plan for a wide range of instruments. Information is provided below, simply click the tabs for information on each option.
Certegy Ezi-Pay No Interest Ever!*
We can offer Certegey's Ezi-Pay No Interest Ever! payment plan on most items over $499. Come and see us in-store for terms and conditions and find out how to take home your dream instrument sooner!
Certegy Ezi-Pay Express, Australia’s favourite retail payment plan is a “revolving credit account” that allows you to purchase goods or services today, by paying an initial deposit, with the remaining balance conveniently direct debited. The application is simple with no invasive questions and fast approval times. Best of all, there is NO INTEREST EVER!
*Certegy Ezi-Pay Express is a continuing credit payment plan provided by Certegy Ezi-Pay Pty Ltd (ABN 28 129 228 986). A once off establishment fee of $40 to activate your account is payable with your first purchase under the plan. Applicable is a payment processing fee of $2.80 and a monthly account keeping fee $2.90. Other fees and charges may apply. See in store for terms and conditions. Where do I sign?
- Your 25% deposit (EFTPos and Credit Card accepted)
- Your banking details for Direct Deposit or your Credit Card for card payments (note: The credit card must match the name on your application)
- Proof of residence (utility bill, bank statement)
- Proof of income (payslip)
New Rentals
We are working on adding rental rates to all of our eligible instruments on the website but in the meantime you are welcome to contact us on 07 3355 3955 for further information. New rentals are available on all new instruments priced $499 and over. For example, our Jupiter TR308L Student Trumpet is only $26 per month to rent. Rentals have a 4 month minimum term - so after renting for 4 months you have the option to return the instrument, keep hiring, or at any time thereafter, purchase the instrument outright. For this example, purchase at 6 months would cost only $388.
What's the bottom line?
Generally speaking: renting for six months then purchasing outright works out to roughly a 15% premium over the normal sticker price. Payments are processed by Direct Debit or Credit Card. There is a once-off $17.50 setup fee which is payable with the first rental payment.
Where do I sign?
Simply drop by the store (or give us a call) and we can get the ball rolling - applications are set up and approved within 30 minutes in the majority of cases so you can pick it up on-the-spot. You are welcome to call and confirm that we have stock on-hand first (or just check the stock availability on the website) as we may need to order the item in for you.
To ensure your application is processed quickly and smoothly, it is best if you can bring the following information with you:
- Drivers license or other Photo Identification
- Proof of address (utility bill or similar)
- Credit card or Banking details for payment arrangements
Pre-Loved Rentals
Yes, "Pre-loved" is a fancy term for "Secondhand" :-) Instruments in the pre-loved rental fleet are generally mid-range student instruments (in general terms, this means instruments that retail around the $800 - $1000 mark for Trumpets, Clarinets and Flutes - higher for other instruments. This means you are renting a great quality instrument that was built from the ground up for longevity and performance.
Pre-loved rentals come with a 3 months minimum rental term, after which you have three simple choices:
- continue renting the instrument
- return the instrument
- apply to purchase the instrument outright
Purchasing an instrument from the pre-loved rental fleet can be a great way to source an excellent quality secondhand instrument but without the worries of being caught with a lemon - every instrument in the fleet is a well-regarded brand-name instrument and has been serviced professionally after each rental term. Since you rent it first it also means you are assured that your teacher and student both love the instrument and that it's going to last the distance. For that matter, sometimes you just need to test the waters and make sure that your student will last the distance first!

Payments are processed by Credit Card or Direct Debit. Your first payment will be the first month's rent in advance and a $20 freight and handling charge. Insurance cover is available as an optional extra monthly fee (it is worth contacting your household insurance company - you may be able to add the instrument as a listed item to your existing policy).
