But that's not all! The V-Amp comes with 100 factory presets with a huge range of different sounds, but you are free to tweak (or completely re-do) any and all of them to get your own signature tone - or perhaps, your idol's signature tone :-) We've looked long and hard, and we can't find anything under $250 that gives you the sound quality, flexibility and overall sense of awesomeness that this little guy has in spades. Thanks to the amp modelling and 9 different output configurations you can get fantastic sound not only from a large amp, but also through headphones, or best of all - plugged straight into your PC for home recording (we can help you out with the right cables and some tips if that's how you want to go). If you're ready to try expanding your sound options a bit and have been considering a pedal or two, I'd strongly suggest thinking about going with this unit instead - for the price of 3 cheap pedals you get 32 effects (of which you can use up to 11 at a time, per preset) plus awesome amp tone and speaker simulation. Don't waste your money buying pedals only to find out that they don't have the mojo you wanted (ever bought a flanger, then found out you probably wanted a phaser instead?) - this unit will probably satisfy most of the variations you want, and if you really get into it and decide, for example, that you want more control over the delay effects - then you know you can go and get an advanced delay unit (like a Boss DD-7 for a couple of hundred bucks) to add on to your rig - you'll still be using the V-Amp for the rest of your sound though! The next step up from the LX-1 is probably one of the larger floor units, like a Boss or Roland multi-effects around the $500 to $1200 mark. There are some other good options in the space between (Zoom, Digitech etc) but for pure bang-for-your-buck value under $500, I reckon the V-Amp is where it's at.
